Formed in 2002 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Off With Their Heads was founded by vocalist/guitarist Ryan Young and soon became known for its melodic-hardcore punk with emotionally raw lyrics. Notable for its revolving cast of musicians over the years, with Young being the only constant member. After years of EPs, splits and vinyl releases, they signed with Epitaph Records in early 2010 and released their full-length album In Desolation, which Young described as “a good mix of driving aggression and also mid-tempo pop.” Over the next decade they continued to release full-lengths such as Home (2013) and Be Good (2019), and marked their 20-year existence in 2023 with an anniversary tour and reflection on their DIY ethos.
