Six Feet Under formed in 1993 in Tampa, Florida, by Chris Barnes, the former frontman of Cannibal Corpse and gained a quick following for their heavy, groove-laden sound and darkly themed lyrics, quickly becoming a significant presence in the underground metal scene. The band's debut album, Haunted, released in 1995, cemented their reputation with its brutal riffs and aggressive musicianship. Over the years, Six Feet Under has undergone several lineup changes, with Barnes remaining the constant driving force and vocalist. The band has released numerous albums, exploring various aspects of death metal while occasionally incorporating other genres, like hardcore and doom.
