Life of Agony emerged from the New York music scene in the early '90s with one of the most distinctive sounds in its genre. Rolling Stone named their 1993 debut River Runs Red (Roadrunner Records) as one of the "100 Greatest Metal Albums of All Time. In addition, the album’s lead-off track “This Time” is considered byRolling Stone as one of the “100 Greatest Metal Songs of All Time.” For over three decades, Life of Agony has shared stages with the biggest names in rock, selling over one million albums to date, and building a die-hard, cult following in the process.
